Braces make it more difficult to brush and floss. Although it is more difficult, Dr. Chang will show you the proper technique to maintain good oral hygiene throughout your treatment.
Dr. Chang recommends that patients avoid foods that are high in sugar, as well as, foods that are hard or sticky. Hard candy and sticky foods can get trapped on the braces and, in some cases, pull them off. Sugar that is not flossed or brushed away can lead to cavities, decay, and the discoloration of teeth.

Removable functional appliances are used to remedy alignment issues when limited movement is required. They can help to close the gaps between your teeth or move a single tooth. Any more significant dental issues will require braces or Invisalign.
